Skit was taken away at several other big SEC schools as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but based on what Greekchat said (don't judge, I know y'all read it too), it was done to eliminate inside-jokes, and the time and stress involved in preparing them was way too much. It's replaced by a sisterhood presentation instead (like a video). But this is another instance of Panhellenic doing whatever they want... Just like voting to accept Blinn Team and voting to expand.

I know the skits do take a lot of planning and time... and FUN. Will chapters will be spending $$$$ and time on producing more videos? I don't care for videos because they are too polished and dream like. If I see one more woman blowing glitter from her hands, I'll puke. They are not REAL. Lovely lighting, pretty girls, awesome music -- yes. Real life sisterhood -- no.

Ole Miss, Alabama, and Auburn are getting rid of skit as well.
I'd expect that one of the arguments against is that it highlights those sisters who are natural extroverts and those who are good at singing and dancing. It's not very "sisterly" to highlight only a few sisters and relegate the rest to being props. Also, it gives a huge advantage to houses who have more dancer/cheerleader types which may seem unfair.

The National Panhellenic Council voted that Skit Night is considered "Frills Recruitment", and we were one of the few CPCs still having skit night and we participate "No Frills Recruitment". Which means we have to cut skit night. The other SEC schools have a required House Tour day instead of skit or they do a sisterhood presentation.

Educated women don't chooses a house based on living quarters. House tours let PMNs experience more of what sorority life looks like. Way better than a video to me. I'm not sure what also constitutes a sisterhood presentation. Sounds like a toned down presentation (skit)?
