fraternity/living

by:

got accepted for the fall and haven't decided about rush yet. I know Calloway is best place to live for Greek connections, but I would really prefer living on campus. Will I still be able to rush and meet Greeks if I live in Hullabaloo? Also, I know quite a few guys in fraternities (not sure which ones since I haven't paid attention), but I feel awkward calling and inviting myself up to visit. Any suggestions on how or when I need to start getting to know guys to rush. Thanks

Hullabaloo is a good option for on-campus housing. I think there are also some apartments that are being built on university land in West Campus that will probably be complete when you get here. As for events, just send those people you know a quick Facebook message telling them you've been admitted to A&M and if they know of any on-campus Rush events coming up. They'll get the hint.

Callaway is ideal because it's dominated by Greeks. But there are plenty of Greeks who live on campus their freshmen year. Just because most the people who live at Callaway are greek doesn't mean most Greeks live at Callaway. It really won't make THAT big of a difference at all. As for rush, it looks good when you show interest and take initiative. Message the guys you know. Just don't be pushy or weird about it

Im in Hullabaloo and can personally attest that there are a ton of greeks here. Callaway as well, but here I have probably 1/3 girls and 1/8 guys are greek. We all hangout together its a good time.
