The chapters that have a lot of legacies will give like a teeny tiny amount of preference to legacies, but typically it's not enough for it to totally negate all other things. Houses that don't have a ton of legacies give more preference to them. DZ (and I think a few other chapters) are not allowed to cut legacies unless they absolutely have to. XO, KKG, DDD, have too many legacies to take all of them. Think about the amount of consideration you get as a percentage: 7% extra for chapters with a lot, 28% for chapters that don't have a lot.

Are there a lot of pnm's with legacies? Heck yes, especially at the chapter that are big nationally (KKG, PBP, XO, DDD, DG, KAT). XO, KKG, and DDD usually haven enough legacies to fill more than one pledge class.

Are there a lot of pnm's with chapter legacies at A&M? Less so. It's certainly not rare, but it's not like Ole Miss where my bff has a 5th generation chapter legacy in her pledge class and most of the legacies are chapter legacies.

Also consider that many of the sororities came on campus in the late 70s and 80s, and enrollment for women was significantly lower then too. There may be a few moms who went to A&M and were in a sorority, but certainly no grandmothers and few aunts. And a lot of older sister legacies might have gone to UT instead of A&M. So there might be a lot of legacies, but not very many in-chapter legacies at all. The result is that for chapters with a lot of legacies, it's easier to cut because you don't have the breath of alumnae down our neck when it comes to selecting members.
