clothing
by: PnmI've always wondered if the active members look at what you're wearing closely at Recruitment. What do they look at and what would you warn a potential member not to wear?
#2by: Clothes
Don't wear: Kendra Scott, Lilly Pulitzer, WATCHES, low cut tops or spaghetti straps (don't risk it), any makeup style that's too out there. We're going to be so delusional, we're probably not going to remember what you wore. Just don't wear "basic" things (you can save that for after rush) and dress like you would if you were at a wedding or having brunch with grandma. J.Crew colorful chino shorts are great for the first couple of days. I know a girl who went Kappa and she wore a Target sundress on philanthropy. You're looking to be classic, not trendy.
#4by: depends
If you are a fashionista and enjoy finding great looking pieces in interesting places, by all means shop at Target, etc. But if you are buying a pref dress at Target because that's the best you can afford, reconsider recruitment. You're going to have a million other expenses.

Wear your Lilly, Kendras, Jacks, Torys, or whatever else makes you feel confident. Yes we notice it but it shouldn't affect the time, conversation, or score you receive while being in the house. We want to know you and if you includes one or all of these things than that is fine!

#8by: We don't care
As long as you look cute, not sloppy, and not like... Too revealing, we honestly don't even look at your clothes unless we already like you. It's more like, if you look really poorly dressed we will notice, and if we are already obsessed with you and you wear something cute we will be even more obsessed with you, but honestly I don't even look at your clothes. I'm more concerned with how are conversation is and if I think you'd fit in our chapter.
I hugely regret fretting over outfits, waking up 30 minutes earlier to iron my Day 1 shorts, and buying new outfits for the entire week. Because honestly it went unnoticed and just causes unnecessary stress
#9by: Remember
to wear comfy shoes (or have them in your bag). It's a really long day everyday. Stay hydrated and make sure to take care of yourself - eat healthy, take vitamins, etc.
Make sure your clothes are clean and fit you. You don't want to be tugging at straps, waistlines, hems all day. Go neutral on accessories and nothing to expensive. You are moving around a bit and it would suck to lose something valuable.
