sorority descriptions

Alpha Chi Omega: These are the pretty, friendly, "girl-next-door" type who are usually from the suburbs and small towns who love to be social. Known to be social butterflies, they're pretty and kind of chill and laid back, but like to party. From what I can see, they have a surprisingly tight knit sisterhood too. They're kind of the more country version of DG.
Alpha Delta Pi: These girls have tons of spirit and their members and exec are working really hard to improve. I'm not just saying this to be nice, but I've noticed that on social media competitions they do fairly well, and they went pretty far in SAE's Paddy Murphy competition. These girls certainly don't lack in any enthusiasm, and as long as they continue to improve they will do well. The girls themselves may be a little shy or awkward during recruitment which is something they could work on, but on the whole, they're great girls!
Chi Omega: As much as people moan on this site about XO cutting legacies before pref, this sorority does have a lot of legacies. They're the more conservative (and Christian) girls from big cities. Usually they're the backup option for a lot of the girls who wanted to go Tri Delt as they're quite similar except XO lacks a bit in social life and overall appearance. I get the feeling that they kind of live in their little bubble and can be snobbish.

Delta Delta Delta: Pretty much the universally agreed upon top house. They're from mostly the wealthy suburbs like Coppell and The Woodlands (and some not-as wealthy suburbs as well). Of all the "top" houses, these girls have a balance of looks, grades, social life, and wealth. Individually, you might find a girl who isn't wealthy or who isn't a great looker, but the house on the whole is one of the tops in all of those categories I mentioned. Imagine the perfect Southern belle, and it's pretty close to Tri Delt. They're pretty conservative and Christian as well, but they have a great social calendar and other sororities like them as well.
Delta Gamma: One of the newer sororities on campus so they might get a lot of hate for what some old-timers see as being "upstarts." They also have a girl-next-door image, but it's more of the hot, blonde, SoCal girl next door, not country girl next door like AXO. Pretty, fun, and chill around the guys, their social calendar is usually pretty full. They take girls who are the "best of the rest" from small towns and suburbs like Georgetown/Leander or Katy who are usually first generation Greeks. Their grades can be a little iffy - I know a DG with a 4.0 in accounting and their grades used to be better but now they're kind of middle of the pack. I get a similar vibe between XO and DG in that they're both very competitive (DG does well in dance competitions) and both are knocking on the door of top tier and have something to prove.

Kappa Kappa Gamma: You either love them or hate them. Yes, their reputation as wealthy party girls from the most exclusive schools and neighborhoods is pretty well-deserved. Some will say they're rude and snobby, but personally I've never met a Kappa I didn't like. The girls usually tend to have very strong personalities and some can be pretty sarcastic which comes off as rude to someone who is particularly sensitive. The personality of this house is definitely not for everyone, but if you're comfortable with it, then you'll have a total blast. They're pretty involved in their philanthropy as well, and have a great social calendar with exclusive "top tier" fraternities.
Pi Beta Phi: Pretty overlooked on the whole in my opinion. No one really has anything bad to say about Pi Phi, and the girls are goofy, nice girls. They're not necessarily "the best" in any one category, but they rank highly in pretty much all of the categories. The girls come from a mix of exclusive big city schools like Memorial and HP and the wealth girls from small towns like Beaumont, but instead of being the popular girl from those schools, these girls are the athletes and nice girls. They're the "good girls" who are cute and social but don't go crazy off the walls.
Zeta Tau Alpha: Aggie Barbies pretty much sums up a lot about them. Pageant girls, cheerleaders, dancers, pretty girls, and hot girls. That's not necessarily a bad thing either. They're pretty nice, but kind of cold, like a bubble.
