best friendships/sisterhood?
by: Fish 2015Which sororities have a strong sisterhood? So many topics on this board tend to rate the best sororities based on which high school you attended. That makes a great sorority??? I am very fortunate to have attended one of those desirable high schools and I loved every minute of it, but honestly why is that a big deal?? I loved my high school and my friends, but I thought the whole point of college was to make a new start and meet new friends. To be honest, many of my friends from high school look down on the fact that I am going to A&M at all...they don't consider it prestigious enough but I don't care - I am thrilled to be an AGGIE! I am excited about the upcoming Recruitment, but I honestly don't want to join a sorority that is made up of the same cliques from high school. I also don't want to join a sorority because of how much money each girl's family has...who cares. Most of the girls from my high school are in the same two sororities at A&M, and unfortunately they seem to still be "stuck" in high school - they haven't moved on or branched out with new friends. I want to join a sorority where the girls really like each other, enjoy hanging out together, etc. So my question is which sororities really have a great sisterhood? I know with so many girls in a chapter everyone is not going to get along, but who has the reputation for really liking each other? Thanks and Gig 'em!

I also graduated from one of "those" high schools. There are up to 20 girls from my high school in some of the houses at A&M. On pref night I had two houses I had loved all week, both considered top 6 houses here. One was very popular with my high school and one only had 0-2 girls in each pledge class. I was really torn but ended up choosing the house with fewer girls from high school- and that was the main reason why I picked my house over the other. Both are great houses but I wanted to branch out a bit more in college.
I'm a senior now and am still glad I made that decision. I'm always going to be friends with my good friends from high school, but now I have an entirely different circle, too! Our houses have done joint date parties which is fun, too!
My advice- follow your heart and where you feel the girls feel most like sisters. All chapters have grwat sisterhoods and great groups of friends! You'll find your home!
