dz vs gpb

Is it better to go Delta Zeta or Gamma Phi Beta? I know not to go ADPi but is it bad to go into these two houses? Which is more fun? Do they cut people during rush?

Neither are very selective. GPB probably cuts a little more than DZ though. GPB is better if you're just looking for a nice group of girls to hang out with but they're not all that social. DZ is better if you're more interested in hooking up with frat guys, but obviously they're not very respected

dz is more "fun" if you mean fun as in frat parties and nose candy. gamma phi seems to have a stronger sisterhood though. dz and gpb are both BOUNDS ahead of adpi though, not really on the same level.

You must have graduated a while ago. GPB is probably the best of the three listed, but DZ and ADP are equal as far as rank goes. ADP has had some great pledge classes lately and totally on the up and up. DZ has been battling a few scandals and rep issues, but they are a good house as well.

All three would be an honor to join.

GPB is way better than the others. They are more selective and have better girls. In fact I'd say they're firmly middle tier.

"firmly middle tier" doesn't take 23 girls in the spring and only initiate 18. They just don't, especially when they take quota every year in the fall. And don't blame it all on Dec grads. Sure there were probably a few(every house has them), but not in the 20's.

You'll know during Rush which is a better fit for your personality. They may be in the same "tier" but they appeal to different groups of girls. It's no different than Kappa/Zeta/TriDelt all being "top tier", but each house having a different personality/reputation.

Also, ALL houses cut during rush week. Every single one of them- even the one(s) you've heard don't cut. My freshman suitemate would rather have died than gone DZ-ADPi-GPB and she was rude/uninterested during her visits the first two rounds. Let me tell you she did not have a full invitation list to skit round and 2 of those 3 houses had not invited her back. She was shocked!

The weaker recruiting chapters may need to invite back more PNM's each round than strong recruiting chapters (ie, top house may invite back 360 out of the 600 after skit night, while bottom house may need to invite 550 back to also have full parties at pref), but EVERY house cuts. All houses have standards for GPA and morals/reputation.

i feel like the girls in dz are typically like the mean stereotypical sorority girls. all of the dz girls that i know are NOT my favorite. as for gpb and adpi they’re typically pretty sweet girls who are looking for sisterhood rather than JUST to party
