sorority rankings
by: tbhtbh most of the rankings have to do with how hot/easy the ladies in each sorority are. if you're overall all hot then you're pretty much top tier. It exists so frats think they're mixing with their "equals". Almost never has to do with how nice, charitable, or friendly the chapter is.

Kappa isn't known for being hot and they're pretty much top house. TriDelt and XO are known for being the opposite of easy and they pretty much constitute the rest of the top tier. DZs bottom but they're well known for being easy. Your argument is incorrect. Ranks are about overall quality, not just looks or "easiness"

I think similarly to "actually," hotness wasn't a priority to me going through recruitment (and actually some of the "hot" houses looked really scary to me, like in a Jersey Shore, too-tan, too-much-makeup kind of way). I pledged and love a house because of other factors, but now that I think about it more, I think hotness does have an important factor to play in rankings. When it comes to guys, attractiveness is a huge factor in who is popular for them. So right there, you have favorites for 50% of the population, Greek and GDI. However when it comes to girls, different things are important to different people. Girls may like the sorority that is more funny/chill, the sorority that they have the most HS/Camp friends in, the sorority that is most involved in on-campus activities, the sorority that is the most studious, most Christian, etc. All these factors are equally "important" but the hot girls are liked by more people (most of the guys) so I'm more inclined to rate them "higher."

I can agree to some of the comments but just because others call a house "hot","rich" or "bible thumpers" does not mean their group does not enjoy a good sisterhood. I am so tired of people assuming hot girls are easy or bible thumper are not fun and others are snobby, so they are not fun either. Meet the girls and make some new friends.

Going through the couple hot sororities at A&M were my favs early in recruitment but as the week went on the conversations, values were more important. On pref night I was tired of hearing how cute I was and that they couldn't wait to set me up with frat X, I went with the group that were cute and attractive, but had alot more substance and personality.

There definitely are houses that are more inclined to be "face houses" and more houses that are personality houses. I personally enjoy being in a personality house and enjoying try sisterhood rather than a house that is "hot." When I was going through recruitment I cut a lot of the houses that I thought were just for looks because those aren't the kind of girls I want as my friends or sisters.

I know when I went through recruitment when I walked into one of the "hot houses" I was overwhelmed because they were so beautiful but after going to more visits I realized how sweet and down to earth they were. I was was so tired and seriously sleep deprived from the week but still had a great experience finding new friends. I chose my house because I felt wanted and could see making so many new friends.
