how it works

by: Rush

There's only one factor that decides tier, so stop arguing. That factor is how sought after your chapter is during rush. That's it. And depending on the rushee, people usually fall under one of two categories when they come to A&M. Either they're from certain parts of Texas where it's basically expected of them to come in wanting KA & Fiji, these guys are usually rich and from certain schools, or they come in with either SAE & Sigep as a top choice, these are the guys who like to party more. Rushees who don't get KA or Fiji fall back on Beta. Rushees who don't get SAE, or Sigep fall back on Sigma Chi and Delt. There are exceptions to this rule, but this how things generally are.

Mostly agree with your post, but I know quite a few guys who are from the Houston and Dallas private schools who decided to go SAE because they wanted the full fraternity experience with the house and parties, and KA was too "country" for them.

There are rich private school kids in all top fraternities, but the ones you are talking of who went SAE probably wanted to party more

This is all that determines your tier? What about throwing parties, good philanthropy, sorority relations, and ifc involvement

The frats most desired during rush (KA, Fiji, SAE, Sig Ep) also happen be tops in parties, philanthropy, and sorority relations as well.

When did sig ep become desired. I have never been to a party of theirs liked it. Honestly behind Delt sigma chi and beta to me. Like they sold less tickets to chilifest than sig nu and pike. Are they just all over this site

The quality of guys is what sets them apart for me. They're fun, chill guys and for the most part don't act like jerks so their sorority relations are pretty good. Also who cares about most tickets sold to Chilifest? Their party and build were waaaaaaay better than Pike, Sigma Nu, Beta, Fiji, KA, and I personally liked it better than Sigma Chi too.

They may be behind beta depending on who you ask but they're obviously more desirable then Delt or Sigma Chi. I'm really not the biggest SigEp fan myself but they're definitely top 5, and I'm a girl so I was actually able to go to every build at chilifest. Idk about tickets but there was a clear difference between KA, SAE and SigEps builds and everyone else's. People were flocking to them

Obviously not selling tickets shows that girls would rather go with other fraternities. Not a soul comes to a&m saying "I want to rush Sig Ep!" over any of the other mentioned fraternities

SigEp did not sell less tickets than Sigma Nu and Beta. Chilifest Corp. messed up their ticket processing.

People who do get into SAE or SigEp don't fall back on Sigma Chi, they fall back more or less on Delt. Sigma Chi is for all the upper tier rejects. Don't put them on the same level as Delt

Agreed. Kind of tired of seeing Delt and Sigma Chi put together

That may have been true in this past but Sigma Chi has made big improvements and everyone knows Delt has fallen off
