sororities and high schools
by: Curious PNMI was looking at the sorority websites of other big southern schools and a lot of them list the high school and home towns of their actives but A&M doesn't. Will sororities every try to do something similar? I know some fraternities do it, why not sororities? I know the home towns would be all the same but high schools at least? I'm curious to know if those houses who allegedly "pledge based on your zip code" are really as exclusive as people say they are and how extreme they go.

I'm actually curious about this as well. OP got me curious so I checked out the guys and they're a lot less exclusive than I thought (a few guys from my HS even pledged the "top" fraternities) so maybe it's the same with the girls? My best friend will be attending Alabama and they publish bid lists and hometowns a few days after rush too.

A&M greek life is not the same as other schools. PLEASE do NOT come in with the mindset that a certain house is exclusive or a certain house is for the people from "bad" zip codes. That attitude will cause you to have a bad rush experience. Some houses the more connections you have with actives the easier it is to get in, so that leads to thinking that zip codes matter. But honestly I knew NO ONE going into rush and ended up with my top choice. Look for the house you feel comfortable in. Nothing else matters
