rush 2015
by: Sophomore Blinn team PNMHi I am currently a blinn team freshman who is planning on rushing next fall. I was unable to rush last year because my mom was sick and I had to go home frequently to help. I want to know if I even have a chance in getting into a sorority next fall? I was very involved in HS and I am involved at TAMU. I have a good GPA. and I am very outgoing. Please let me know!

Yes, you will get into a sorority next fall if you have a good GPA and are involved. Are you going to transfer into A&M? That will give you a better chance. You may get block cut by houses the first day, but don't take it personally. Many houses (even the lower tiers) block cut sophomores if they don't know them personally or aren't a legacy. Try to meet girls throughout the year and let them know you're rushing in the fall. If they like you, they'll keep a look out for your name and pull you from being cut. Good luck!

Don't worry! Even tamu freshmen are block cut from some houses who focus on expensive zip codes etc. You want to be in a house who wants you for you and if they are so shallow to drop you without meeting you, good riddance. Lots of houses will be interested in who you are, be open minded and focus on the people who focus on you.
