#3441by: 2011 in my new home
I am not going to say that overnight I changed my mind actually it did change some overnight. I still had to deal with the demons of greek rank ringing through my head though. However after the first week I could not imagine myself in any other house. We had mixers with some "greek rank high ranked frats" We had great philanthropies, we had amazing sisterhoods and we even were treated really great by girls in all the other chapters. But how is that so? Greek rank led me to believe that if I joined this house I would be a leper? Why do I have lots of friends in top and middle tier houses and why do they not care what the letters are on my shirt? Why does my boyfriend who is in the "greek rank top frat" even like me since my letters do not match the level of his? Well that is because no matter which house you are in you will find your place at A&M and you will not be treated like you are any different than if you were in a top house.

So here I am happy as can be in a chapter full of sisters that love and support me. I have built friendships I will have for life. I have the most amazing big on the planet and I know I made the right choice by sticking with this house. I know it is scary for all of you new girls about to embark on this crazy world. I know some of you have your minds set on certain houses but please take it from someone that has been there that if you will keep an open mind and realize there are 12 AMAZING chapters at TAMU and no matter where you get your bid you will find a fit for you. All the houses have every type of girl out there. I promise you that. Good girls, Party girls, Rich girls, Middle class girls, Church girls, Study all the time girls and many other types are what make up each and every house here. No house is perfect and no house is all bad. Just go in and try to make a difference and know you only get what you put into it. Good luck I will be praying for each and every 2012PNM.

I loved reading your story and I know from personal experience that you aren't alone. Each house is amazing in its own way and it takes someone with an open mind to be able to see the truth behind all these Greek rank lies and stereotypes. I hope that girls going through recruitment this fall are reassured by your story and realize the opportunities that going Greek can offer!

what purpose would that serve? I respect her so much more for not mentioning any specific chapters. I think her story is actually the most helpful of anything put on this website this whole time. It might be nice for some of us others to share our stories also. We would like to also hear about so called top and middle tier girls also. I think when someone is willing to put it out there like she did is pretty awesome.
