what is the possibility we see new chapters on cam
by: future
for both fraternities and sororities this falls rush was the biggest in history. Ive heard of alot of girls dropping once they are left with a lower tier house. I think thats because the lower tier houses have been established as such. A few new chapters, if run correctly, could lead to rush being more inclusive because pnm's could be more easily persuaded to join the up and coming chapter.
I believe a similar situation is evident with fraternities. It looks like every house took a ton of guys except for the high number of bottom tier ones. While the the middle and upper houses are expanding to max capacity we should think about starting new chapters. I rushed alot of different places but some of the bottom tier fraternities need to have a large amount of work done on them if tamu greeklife is ever going to closely resemble an sec school. If I am correct ATO only got its charter back a year or two ago and they are already nipping at the heels of the lower tier. (If im wrong about ato lmk).
Basically does anyone else think we'll see new sorority/fraternity chapters before summer gets here?

I'll be honest...yall are ruthless to the 'bottom' tier frats, and even some of the 'middle' ones. Why would a new one want to ever come here? All the new ones just get crapped on and pushed to the side b/c sadly, that's the way IFC frats CHOOSE to treat newer chapters. I think you all need to act a bit more Greek and support all of the chapters you already have and then look to add more.
Sororities have a long way to go before a new house is added. One large year isn't going to make CPC rush to add a new one. We've already had 3 sororities fail here, so they'll be cautious before adding another.

Greek Life here is too frictional and competitive to be conducive to growth. We do have a solidified number of a few high quality, SEC level fraternities and sororities, but a large amount of Greek life still consists of tiny organizations fighting over each other for scraps. We need to focus on building up our current Greek Life before expanding it with more chapters. Especially the fraternities. Because let's face it. Our sorority system is basically already on par with SEC schools. It's our fraternities that are lagging behind. We have maybe 10 strong fraternities and 5 or 6 SEC level ones; and not only does that need to grow to incorporate all our fraternities, but the top ones here need to start cooperating as a community rather than just trying to assert their dominance
