freshmen vs sophomore

by: Anonymous99987

I plan to rush as a sophomore next fall. Are freshmen made priority?

They accept more freshmen than sophomores but you still have a good chance of getting a bid. BE YOURSELF AND GO INTO EVERY HOUSE WITH AN OPEN MIND! You'll find the right house for you

Freshman and sophomores do not compete against each other - there are separate quotas. You compete against sophomores & juniors for significantly fewer slots at every house. BUT that is because significantly fewer sophomores & juniors are still participating in recruitment by preference night - normally they have A house in mind, so they drop like flies. Ironically, they should be the ones that go in with the 'any sorority house' mentality -- if they did, more upper classmen would be admitted to ALL houses.Think about it, you're already not in the house that your friend is, so what if you join another house -- nothing has changed, except you too get to have your OWN sorority experience.

Sorry for not being clear. The previous comment is correct. You're joining to create your own memories and adventures. And your friend will have her own. Doesn't mean y'all can't be friends right?
You definitely will still be friends.

Houses prefer freshman over sophomores because they get fours years instead of three from them. Also, if a house can foresee a big graduating class in the near future, they will cut more sophomores during recruitment that year. It's not good for them to have too many girls graduate at once so they try to make up for it by taking more freshman the next year.

If they really like you and you show and tell them you love them then you a have a higher chance of getting a bid. show that you like them! It really helps you stand out!
