pref night
by: Tamu greekTo repeat myself from earlier this year please please ignore the stupid rho gams and BE HONEST TODAY. Because if you don't like a house they don't want to waste a bid on you over a girl who actually wants it. I know pref they tell maximize your options blah blah but for Gods sake just be freaking honest. Believe it or not we want to help you get to where your home is as well, whether that's with us or another sorority. If you want a sorority TELL THEM. If you are torn between two houses TELL THEM. If you don't like a house TELL THEM that you found your home elsewhere, it's okay, they won't be mad I promise! Help us help you! Because tonight is the biggest night of the week!

Stress this enough! If you have no intentions of pledging a sorority, do not put them on your bid card. It can make you ineligible for COR (for a year) if you are extended a bid to a house and you don't accept it.
That said, Go to pref night even if you aren't sure about a house or the only house you have left. Go in with an open heart. It might surprise you.

I wished I had read this before last night. I had 3 on pref night but if I get a bid from 2 of them I will probably not take the bid. But I tried to suicide and no one would let me. After I insisted to my Rho gamma that I wanted to suicide she said it would decrease my chances of getting the house I wanted if I only put one down. I still wanted to suicide so she got an advisor who told me I had to rank all 3 so I did. But now I wished I hadn't. I probably will only accept one bid and if I get the others I may just try again next year.

Spoiled brat. You're the girl that's only going through recruitment for the t-shirts and parties. Being Greek is so much more than that. Here's my advice, don't show up to receive your bid. The TAMU Greek system doesn't need you, and the house that you want a bid from doesn't want someone like you as a member, either. Sorry, not sorry.

So you are saying that after only one week you can definitively say that you would not find sisterhood in your other two houses?! That's coconuts. There are 200 members in the houses - I can assure you that there are all types of people in every house. EVERY chapter is a sisterhood and EVERY sorority member has a very similar experience. The biggest differences in the sororities are their mascots, colors, and philanthropies. Other that that - its all the same.
Sorority life is what YOU make of it. YOU choose to have a life changing experience or not. I can also assure you that if you decline your bid from a house that WANTS you, you will not have any better luck next year. The house that you wanted and DIDN'T want you will not miraculously come around. Think about that before turning down the biggest honor you have experienced in your life (getting a bid from a great sorority).

And I guess "They won't be mad. I promise!" Isn't exactly correct. Obviously from these posts, they would've been mad. Truly I didn't mean to upset anyone. This is very upsetting and confusing to me. I have so many people telling me different things. The other 2 houses are lovely but I have people telling me to go through next year and I might could get my first I choice if I don't today. I'm sorry. It's hard to make decisions being so emotional. I didn't mean to be rude. Truly.

You're stupid. Soooooo many ppl only wished they had SOMETHING on pref night & you're already thinking you're too good for two out of 3 houses. You better take what you can get bc no one wants sophomores.... And it just doesn't work that way.
