So the pnm's have a limited number of houses they can go back to and they back fill from least favorites to maximize parties right? Is it same way with sororities? Do they simply have an assigned number of girls they drop each night and is it different by house or all the same? Or do they also get girls that maybe were on the "cut" list if the ones they wanted more don't similarly rank them?

you are getting into the grey area of private member selection... this is something that you vow not to reveal when you join a sorority. Only members of each sorority (and sometimes only the exec board) know exactly how this works for their house. The basics are that they send lists back to Panhellenic with all party attendees names on the list. HOW that works within a sorority is not public knowledge. What I can say is if you are not at a party, you are no longer on the list going forward ( meaning you can't go back to a house if you didn't attend ALL parties--the one exception to that is a snap bid given if a house doesn't fill to quota).

New,
I think you are confused by how the system works for pmn's and houses:

PNM's:
Let's say yesterday you had 9 invitations and had to indicate your least favorite 3 to help match your party list for today's round of 6. You rank ABC, DEF, and GHI as your least favorites in that order. This is where pmn's are often misinformed--> PNM's DO NOT CUT HOUSES. I hear this every year, "I cut ABC, why are they on my party list??"

Party invitations are a match-up of the women the sororities wish to invite back, plus the PNM's ranking. If all 9 houses wish to invite you back for 6 party, then you will never go to ABC, DEF, or GHI again. If 4 of your top 6 invited you back, and ABC / DEF/GHI also invited you back, then your party list will include the 4 you ranked plus the next 2 of your "least favorites" in order of your ranking...so you go to ABC and DEF but not GHI. If only 2 of your favorites invited you back as well as the bottom 3, then you will have 5 parties (2 + the 3 least favorite ones). Make sense?

Houses:
A&M uses a recruitment system that most universities use, too. It uses the house's historical rankings by the PNM's to determine how many women each house can invite back each day. This is not a secret. This is why the houses that are seen as the most prestigious and competitive cut more women during the week. They have to cut because almost every pnm is interested in them.

This system works in the PNM's favor, I promise you! It allows PNM's to have to consider other houses earlier on, than for XYZ chapter to have 5x as many women at pref than they can have in their nm class.

If you are invited back to a house, they want to get to know you better! There is no such thing as women the houses cut being invited back later on, or women they wished to cut ending up with an invitation due to low returns. No such thing!!

This system is pretty good at accurately predicting how many women need inviting back each day in order to make quota. The % of women getting bids has greatly increased since RFM went into place.

A last word of advice: the houses who invited you back today are the only ones interested in you. They are your only options if you want to be Greek. So forget about the ones you're not going back to right now!!! Women who have successful recruitments look at each day's party list with an open mind and make new favorites every day.
