What do I do if I only get a bid to a bottom tier? Should I drop and try again next year?

why don't you wait and see what the houses are like. THIS site is not accurate. IF you just use the rank system here, you'd be cheating yourself. A bunch of strangers who aren't even held responsible for comments & rankings are going to sway you?! silly...

Say try it at least. Your choices won't get any better as a sophomore. If a house cut you one year, they will cut you the next year too. Being Greek is better than gdi any day

I was invited pref night to the so-called bottom tier sororities. I dropped out. I looked at blogs and listened to gossip. I then regretted my decision. Looking back these houses had great girls and put on a great rush. Luckily, I was invited for Spring rush and given a bid to join one of the houses that those on Greek Rank put down. I missed a whole semester of fun just because I let others influence me. I have friends in all houses. Some are very happy while others not so happy. I am very happy. I have a great sisterhood!

If you aren't successful as a freshman, you sure won't be successful as a sophomore.

Just join a house and you'll meet great girls and have more fun than being a gdi. At least you'll have social activities planned and events to go to which makes the whole college experience way more interesting.

I would. I know plenty of girls who dropped freshman and re-rushed and got the houses they wanted.

the only girl I know wanted PiPhi and was dropped, went through again and got AXO, she's happy now but it was hard

If you go through twice, you'll only get a lower ranked sorority the second time around so if you START with a bottom tier, you'll probably get cut completely or end up with the same one

If you absolutely cannot see yourself in the sorority then yes drop. However if your reason for dropping is because it is not top tier then stay.
