by: sophomoreFrom what Ive heard there were A LOT of girls that did not get bids last year, due to how many girls rushed. I also know that each sorority must take a certain number of upperclassmen. How difficult will it be for a sophomore to get a bid?

Make sure to maximize your options and you have a great chance of getting a bid (depends on a lot of factors that are part of membership selection). Get your recs in, keep your grades solid, clean up your social media, look polished, and have a great time. Keep an open mind because this site is not at all accurate. Times have changed and every house is a great house.

I can't stress the "look polished" enough (and I'm talking more than a mani/pedi)! Let's face it--It is very difficult to take a group of 1,200+ PNM's and cut your list down to 55-60 or whatever quota is. A lot of it is based on perception in both your language and how you present yourself. YOU are your OWN walking billboard of how you are and a lot of cuts are based on perception. You might really have outstanding leadership skills or be the most down to Earth and genuine PNM there ever was, but you don't know those things just by looking at someone or chatting with them for 10 minutes. If you walk into the house looking sloppy and/or lack self confidence, your perception stock drops. Accessorize! Raise the bar high for yourself and put your best foot forward!
