Was the Kappa house a family home in the past?

Ive heard rumors that the KKG house used to be a bank or a family home but I have no idea if that’s true. Could someone share with me? I’m just curious as to why it seems to have a different layout than most of the other houses.

No, their houseboard built it in 1981.

My mom was a Kappa in the 90s and she said they used to call it “The Bank” because it looked like a bank, but it never actually was one.
