panhellenic 's blinn team policy

by:

The Texas A&M Panhellenic should have checked with each NPC organization to find out what their policies are for pledging students that are not full-time students at Texas A&M before announcing that Blinn Team students are eligible for recruitment.

Several NPC groups can only pledge girls that are registered, full-time students at that university which has their chapter. They cannot pledge girls that are not taking a minimum of 12 hours at the university where the chapter resides.

The university has officially called Blinn Team full time students. Who has a 12 unit at A&M rule?

They are not full time Students if they are not enrolled full time and they still have to make their grades to be accepted as full time students at Texas A&M's main campus where the sororities have chapters.

By: Not allowed 12 hours

You have no idea what you're talking about. Panhellenic did not implement this policy- THE UNIVERSITY DID. They TOLD Panhellenic that they HAVE to allow Blinn TEAM girls to rush because they are considered full time students.

Now- as far as individual sororities go, most specify that they can only take "full time students". Blinn TEAM girls will all be considered official, full time students at Texas A&M (unlike a girl who is just taking 6 hours at TAMU and 6 hours at Blinn because it's easier, Blinn TEAM will have all of their TAMU and Blinn hours counting as TAMU hours, making them full time A&M students.) Therefore, most NPC groups WILL be able to take them.

You are clearly very misinformed about what is going on with Panhellenic, this year's recruitment, NPC policies, and your own chapter's policies.

The university declared them full time ( wink wink) ONLY for activity purposes. The same university will not allow them to take more than one course at A&M...isn't that odd? IMO just do away with Blinn Team and convert everyone to Gateway - in or out - one summer, no excuses. This is so crazy.

Full time student, 12 hours more, at THE university where the chapter resides. That is the policy of many NPC groups.

How would it be handled if a Blinn Team girl gets a bid and then never makes the grades to get off Blinn Team and never becomes a regular A&M student....that seems really awkward for any of the sororities.

Have all sororities worked it out with their nationals to be able to take girls who are taking less than 12 hours at A&M?

so are the sororities shirts going to change from Texas A&M XO to Texas A&M and Blinn Team XO?

my advice: don't rush until you're fully in. just because the school made this rule, doesn't mean these chapters have to abide.
