Shy PNM advice?
by: ShyI can be really shy and reserved when I don’t know people well and I’m scared this is going to hurt me during rush. It takes me a while to open up and in formal rush you only have a couple minutes to make an impression. Do you think COB would be better for me? Or waiting until sophomore year when I hopefully know people in the chapters?

Try to just make sure you’re not giving short answers even though you’re nervous. remember the girls don’t know you so all you say is really all we have to go off of. If you don’t say enough you’re making it risky for us to pick you. Pretend you’re talking to your best friend it’s better to be weird than to say nothing because saying very little also comes across as weird. There is nothing wrong with being reserved but for rush it will limit your options. Try to open up and if it doesn’t go how you want then you can try cob or formal rush next year. I felt just like you last year and forced myself to talk so it can be done! It also gets easier the more you do it! good luck!!
