Frats not in songfest
by: WeirdThis might be dumb but why aren’t frats participating in song fest? As a sorority girl I would much rather prefer doing it with other Greeks

1. Its a very time consuming activity
2. Guys typically do not find dancing as much fun, and the field of dance is primarily occupied by women
3. Songfest does little to nothing for recruitment for fraternities compared to sororities, especially for the amount of time and effort required
4. If you lose, not very much goes toward philanthropy.
All in all, frats will get much much more out of recruitment, philanthropy, and their own personal enjoyment of the greek experience by not participating in songfest, and focusing their energies elsewhere. If fraternities ran a philanthropy based around a male-dominated activity that raised little philanthropy funds for the participating sorority chapters, did little for a sorority’s recruitment, and that wasn't very girlboss on paper, then you can bet that yall probably wouldn’t participate in that either. No frats have been banned from songfest… they just don’t typically participate bc frankly it’s a lot of work and they don’t want to put forth the effort… sororities know this and therefore prefer to partner with mens orgs! Some frats have participated previously and done a great job but for the majority they just don’t put forth the effort and don’t make good partners typically… again there have been exceptions!
