Going into pref night, i preffed gphi and another sorority. After pref, I didn’t pref gphi as my number one but it was the house i ended up in. I was super hesitant and upset at first but looking back, I wouldnt have it any other way. I met my bestfriends and some of the most loving, accepting, and intentional people.

The same thing happened to me years ago but with another house. I was in tears on bid day when I didn’t get the house I wanted that I thought was a sure thing. Years and babies later, my small group of sister are the friends I can lose touch with and then see again as if a day never passed. When our family moved to a new country, there were sisters from A&M that guided me through all the homesickness and emotions. You won’t be best friends with every girl in your chapter, maybe not even the first year, but you will find your tribe. There will always be a sister for you somewhere in life.

Attention pnms
Wherever you end up just give it a chance! It’s so hard to know exactly what a house is like going in and based off of first impressions and you may be surprised and love the people you meet! While it’s totally okay to drop if you don’t feel like you have found your fit at least give it a week or two and really make an effort to get to know actives and your pledge class you may be pleasantly surprised

hey girl,
i know it sucks not getting your top houses and that is okay, the rush process is incredibly cutthroat and selective sometimes. i know a lot of girls in gphi and they made the most of their sorority because at the end of the day it isn’t about the “ranking”; it’s about the friends you make in it and what you bring to the table!! they have nice formals and date parties and a good sisterhood. not to mention the nice house, you will love it :)
