What is the recommended GPA for the sororities during recruitment? Do they cut based on purely GPA?

The bad news: chapters will cut for grades.
The good news: the average GPA of most freshmen PNMs are all high because 1/2 the freshman class are top 10%
The bad news: chapters still have to cut before they even meet PNMs so...

For transfers who are rushing as a sophomore, would a 3.48 be considered good or bad?

Being a sophomore is one strike. That gpa is another, ngl but it's not a deal breaker. You'll find a wonderful home if you trust the process and maximize your options

You’re fine. I rushed as a transfer sophomore with a 3.0, I did not know anyone in any houses,I didn’t grow up in a major “wealthy” city nor had letters of recommendation for every house. I got a full schedule each round of rush with competitive houses and ended in a “top” house. Please don’t let people scare you into thinking you won’t have a great experience.
