Stop the hate! Greek life is irrelevant here
by: JulieGreek life at A&M is so irrelevant especially when compared to other SEC schools. Texas A&M has 1,200 pnms for 14 houses with 60,000 undergrads. Greek life at A&M is nowhere close to the numbers other SEC schools rush; BAMA 32,000 undergrads (2,600 pnms for 16 houses), Ole Miss 17,000 undergrads (2,100 pnms for 11 houses) or UARK 25,000 undergrads (2,200 pnms for 11 houses). So stop all the hate, it’s seriously unnecessary the majority of “top” girls at A&M are not even in a sorority!

Greek life can be great if the dumb people stop the crap talk against each frat and srat. Perhaps just stop worrying about others(stalking each others instagrams or saying I heard an OOO said or did this) and live your own life. Definitely not impressing incoming students enough to go Greek. It’s why orgs are on the rise.

we lack the traditions that bigger sec schools have. greek life here is very new relative to other universities, hence honestly little funding from alumni compared to say UT. majority of the “top” people at a&m aren’t greek, as they are likely generational aggies with their family bashing greek life due to the lack of presence on campus because of the corp. administration doesn’t like greek life, creating a super toxic environment between gdis and greeks. this causes a superiority complex between different srats/frats as they all blame each other for the lack of a positive conception to non greeks. this is just my personal opinion.
