The girls who are from the schools who go PKT at SMU and UT usually want Kappa or Tri Delt. (Same with TCU actually) However, Chi Omega and Pi Phi both have girls from those schools/areas also.

Pi phi and theta are consistently good girls at A&M. Mostly very balanced, smart, nice girls who keep a low profile, but have quiet connections.

I agree with that about Pi Phi and Theta.

I feel like there is a lot of connection between pi phi, theta, tri delt and chi o. These girls seem to all kind of know each other through campus orgs, fish camp, Bible studies, breakaway, etc.

The PKT of A&M is still PKT. People don’t realize that a lot of the hype about PKT has to do with the alumni network you’ll be in after graduation. Especially important in cities, not so much in suburbs.

Chapters are different at all colleges. Once your an alumni you will get out and make more friends I promise. Your sorority label will fade and Jr League will take all of you.

pkt chapters aren't the top at tamu like other tx colleges. alumni networking really isn't huge in giving your career a boost but they focus on it to draw recruits in since the chapters are weak.

Not career networking. Social.

stop living in the past- those 3 soroities aren't top at many southern universities anymore- alabama, arkansas, old miss, smu, tcu, auburn, clemson and so on

PKT is strong in Texas, Oklahoma and nationally. But not as much in the southeast.

I feel like anyone who buys into the PKT thing is either a Boomer or the child of Gen X parents who drank the Boomer Kool-Aid. Literally no one cares. When you are out of college and in the real world, networking and socializing is on you. Joining the country club or joining Junior League, everyone gets the same treatment. If you’re only trying to join a chapter because you somehow think it will help you later, that’s not the reason to join. If you want to be involved and social later in life, then you can. And gasp…..even non-Greeks are in lots of social circles. It’s not that deep.

PKT is an older thing but it is still real. The social connections do open doors and allow you to meet people at alumni clubs etc. Have to say though that which school you go to does matter. So, for example, A&M Tri Delts are running with more girls in those social circles than the Thetas and Pi Phis right now. I am sure that carries over.

A lot depends on where you move. Your circle will include those near you in Dallas or wherever and your pkt bond is always a nice starting point for a friendship with recent alums from other schools. Some friendships from A&M will carry over, but many phase out.
