why is COB considered a bad thing?

why do some chapters avoid cob, or hide the fact that they are participating??
i don’t see anything wrong with taking new members in during the spring. some girls start in the spring or weren’t sure if they’d want to be in a sorority until the second semester.
i just don’t understand why there’s such a negative connotation around it

I feel the same way. I don’t understand why some think they’re better than putting a interest form on their page. Pan said that only 4 sororities are doing COB but apparently DZ gave out invites today so idk why all this shady stuff is happening. They’re all just trying to copy Zeta’s sneaky COB from last year ig. But now that they’re showing who they really are, I’d prefer to be in a sorority that is open and accepting.

I don’t think Zeta is shady if they posted on IG. A lot of sororities participated last year, but only a few this year. ADPi, GPHi, AOPi, and AXO. DZ usually participates, but they are not this year.
