legacy

I'm planning on rushing when I get to a&m, I know many people who have rushed into various sororities and were very highly respected in each, and I could get many letters of Rec, but I am not a legacy. Will this hurt me a lot? Or do I still have a good chance without a legacy?

Do you really think every chapter is full of nothing but legacies?? I mean, really. COMMON. Send if your rec letters and be yourself and you'll be fine.

Girls post that you can get into any house without recs, but the honest truth is:

without rec letters and personally knowing someone in the house you have no chance of getting a bid from Kappa or PiPhi

without rec letters, you won't get into DDD or ZTA

If you aren't a legacy you won't get into XO or Theta

Focus on obtaining 2 recommendation for each sorority. Don't worry about legacies. You have a very good chance if you have great grades, present yourself well, are easy to talk to, and show respect to everyone at all chapter recruitment events.

nope!! i was a Chi O legacy and ended up pledging a different house! but at the same time, i know many legacies in my pledge class as well as girls in AXO and DDD that were legacies to their houses! its different for everyone i think

My chapter is mostly made up of legacies, but just like every chapter, if you come in and really fit with the girls, you can get a bid. I was a legacy at KKG, and went to a different chapter where I didn't know any actives and wasn't a legacy. I'm one of the only girls in my PC like this, but it's definitely possible. But GET YOUR RECS! Those are the most crucial thing to prepare for rush.
