question about transfering

You'll be perfectly fine! It's honestly more about personality. Go in completely open minded. Don't listen to top middle or bottom tier stuff. Every house is different and you'll get a good feel for it during recruitment! Don't cut yourself short by being set on a few houses!

With low high school grades, youll be lucky to get a bid anywhere. Don't take it personally if you are dropped completely. It's worth a try though

I apologize, I should have been more specific. I didn't have bad high school grades - I had a 3.5 GPA, but I didn't take any AP classes or anything like that. My test scores weren't amazing, I got a 22 on my ACT. Lots of girls that went to my high school that pledged sororities at A&M were in all AP classes and had awesome test scores, so it made me worry that since I don't have those kind of high school stats that I probably wouldn't get a bid. Factor that into being a sophomore transfer with no real connections! Since then I have been doing really well in college (3.7 GPA) and I've proven that I can be involved in college activities while keeping a high GPA. Thoughts?

If you are telling the truth about having a 3.7 college GPA, then you already have higher grades than most of the girls rushing you. Relax and enjoy recruitment!

OK, I am going to be completely honest with you. If your high school stats were not good enough to get you accepted as a freshman, no sorority will want you. They have so many girls that come in with awesome GPA's, test scores, and activities/leadership roles. Plus, many of these girls are freshmen. You will be a sophomore with not too awesome high schools stats. If you are transferring from a great university, you might have a slightly better chance, but if its community college or something you can forget about it. I'm sorry, but it's very competitive and by what you said you don't seem to measure up.

Obviously #6 isn't in a sorority or she would know better. If you rush as a sophomore, your high school grades never even come up. You submit your college transcript instead. Your grades are great. Keep an open mind and you'll do fine.

What this is proving is each house is a tad different in the way they recruit, what they look for, and what they need. So I say sign up, go through recruitment and keep an open mind. A bid to any house is better than not being anything at all!

Number 6 is right - they won't see your hs grades, just your college grades. You don't need to tell anyone that you didn't get in as a freshman. If someone asks, have an answer that isn't a lie but doesn't make you look less intelligent and capable than you are.

When I called the greek life office I was told that I did need to submit my high school test scores and GPA. Are you saying that even though I submit these the sororities won't see them? Is it just to have on file or what? I don't understand.
