by: GOAGGIESWhich houses can you expect to be cut from if you don't have connections to/within the house? I've heard that unfortunately, many sororities only take girls that they know. So basically you have to have friends/sisters in the house to receive a bid. Is this true? If so, which sororities are known to do this? And which are more accepting to girls who may not know any girls in the sorority?

I'm sorry but we can't tell you what sorority may pick you or not. We have no idea who you are or what kind of individual you are. All I can say is that finding a sisterhood is realistic but you won't know if you don't go through rush. Isn't it better to go through and say you tried then regret not knowing what would have happened? Go in with an open mind and follow your heart!

Not EVERY house requires connections to get into them. Connections are important but greek life at TAMU isn't as intense as some schools, so you do have a shot at finding the perfect sisterhood even if you don't know anyone beforehand. I do agree that you need a good GPA and some extracurriculars but don't try to be somebody you are not. Just be yourself during recruitment!
