please help!!!
by: CuriousI did not get accepted to Texas A&M my freshman year because of low test scores and less than amazing GPA. I have been attending another college and have been working really hard. I have a high college GPA and leadership + volunteer experience in college. I understand that sophomores/juniors have to submit high school transcript and test scores for sorority recruitment. I would be confident going through recruitment if I only had to submit only college "resume" but am worried that my high school "resume" will cost me a bid. Can anyone offer advice please? If I have a poor high school "resume" but have an awesome college "resume" is that ok? Should I be able to get a bid if I maximize options? I really want to be a part of greek life but I'm worried that my high school grades and test scores could cost me a bid. Will it hurt my chances or am I freaking out for nothing? Please help!!

Do NOT listen to the above comment. With A&M's greek system getting bigger, you definitely have a chance. Sororities are looking for all kinds of women & you have obviously established yourself in activities in college so you should do just fine. They look at your scores but it's not like you are referred to by your SAT score. Rush and make the best out of recruitment! You will not regret it. Oh and definitely get recs for every sorority if you can. I would say recs are extremely important!

#1 is right on the money. There are so many amazing girls that come through recruitment that you have to have a near perfect resume if you want a chance. Especially as a sophomore. It won't matter that your college GPA is great if your high school GPA and test scores aren't. They are looking for top notch girls, and if you don't have the complete package, most won't be interested.

Someone is obviously bitter. I know plenty of girls that have gone through recruitment that have less than stellar test scores and have gotten their top choices. So please don't comment when you know nothing about recruitment.
