sorority

Howdy! I have a somewhat complicated situation. I have been attending a different college for 2 years, but because of the way that my credits will be transferred, I will be classified as a sophomore and will be attending TAMU for at least 3 years. Will sororities consider me a sophomore or junior? Also, will I be required to submit high school GPA, test scores, and activities? Or will they only see college GPA and activities? If I do have to submit high school info, how important is that to them? I appreciate all advice! Thanks and Gig 'Em!

Definitely call the recruitment office at Texas A&M and ask. I wouldn't want anyone giving you false information! As for the other questions, you will be asked for both high school and college activities/GPA/etc. Since you've been removed from college for two years, they will most likely look at college information but remember, you will be competing against hundreds of highly qualified ladies so you want to look as best as possible with high school information as well. Also, try your hardest to get recs! Good luck!

So if my high school info is really not good at all, but my college gpa and involvement is awesome.. Is it even worth trying? If I were to go through recruitment out of high school I don't think I'd have gotten a bid because my test scores are awful and my gpa and involvement isn't the greatest :/

call the greek life office. I say go through recruitment---what do you have to lose? If you don't get a bid, at least you tried and you'll make lots of friends going through recruitment

Definitely 100%, without a doubt go through recruitment. At first, I didn't want to and by the end of the week it was the greatest decision I could have made. Although it is fairly competitive, everyone is so nice and welcoming. Don't get caught up in worrying about the little details like high school activities and test scores. Just fill out the forms honestly, have fun with it and enjoy every second of meeting all the girls during recruitment. Sororities can cut girls for the stupidest reasons, so don't be so worried about cuts. Be yourself and know that every invite you get back, that sorority genuinely cares about you and wants YOU exactly how you are.
