go greek

by:

I'm in a sorority here and I love my sisters! I got cut from my legacy house pref night and ended up in another house and I absolutely love it still. PNMs, this site is full of lies! To be honest most people don't care which one you're in at A&M, they are all great chapters and all have friends in others- even "lower tier" ones have friends is "higher tier" ones and vice versa. I have never met a Greek girl who wasn't sweet! Each house has something to offer!

DG- close knit and rich
KD- Down to earth and Genuine
Pi phi- kind hearted and easy going
Theta-Great enegrgy and spiritual life
Kappa- very smart and pretty
Zeta- Athletic and Involved
Adpi- Humble and Loving
DZ- Sweet and Fun
Gamma Phi- Bubbly and Cute
Tri Delt- Beautiful and driven
A Chi O- Social and Outgoing
Chi O- smart and nice

Tiers are a joke at A&M! I swear 85% of A&M students dont know the teirs, they just see involvement. 1100 girls go though recruitment but only generally 600 stay in it and get bids. If you want to get involved at A&M, want a strong sisterhood, and want to meet your future bridesmaids let the system do its job! Maximize your options and you will have a house where you will find true friends!

It appears that about 30% either dropped or were released completely. Makes me sad for the women who didn't decide to go greek and enjoy all the benefits of membership. There were lots of happy faces at bid day!

My daughter so very much wanted to be in a sorority but coming from a humble background, we did not know about letters of references or anything so she went on her own without anything. She transferred from a school that did not have sororities and was so very much wanting to be Greek at A&M. She met a lot of friends and had a nice time, but was cut each day by the ones she liked and had to drop completely on Friday before bid day Saturday. Sadly, because she is already a sophomore, this is it. For anyone reading this, we found out too late that you have to have letters of recommendation and/or be a legacy if you want to go Greek at A&M. Otherwise, don't go through rush thinking you will get a bid, just go to make new friends and have friends who are not Greek because if you show up without your rec letters, you won't get in.

Wow #19 she had to drop??? Sounds to me like your precious snowflake walked away, I am sorry she felt like she was to good for the group or groups that wanted her.

For those with an open mind being Greek at A&M is not hard at all. Keep your self open to any of the houses here and you will find great sisters.

This is NOT true whatsoever. I rushed with zero rec letters and got a bid from one of my top two houses, and still had both of my favorites on pref night. It isn't all about rec letters.

Actually your daughter judged the sororities and when she only had one left ( that she thought she was too good for) she dropped. You and your daughter's attitude is offensive and I don't believe recommendation letters would have changed the outcome. There is no place in the Greek system for people like you and your daughter and it's people with your attitude that give the Greek system a bad name. Don't worry about COB or the spring- she will be too good for her choices.

Might want to try learning humility and thankfulness
