Are they seriously girls out there who got cut by all houses?!? I thought as long as you “maximized” your options you had a pretty good chance of getting a bid. This doesn’t make sense?

The ONLY time during rush that you are guaranteed a bid is if you are invited to Pref + you do not suicide. Listing both (or 1 if you only have 1 Pref invite) houses on your Pref card is “maximizing your options”. You WILL be on one of the houses’ lawns on bid day. Guaranteed. If you only have one invitation to Pref and you go & sign your Pref card, you will be getting a bid to that chapter.

Before Pref, anything is possible. Just because a PNM attends the party invitations she has does not guarantee her any invitations to the next round of rush. It sucks but there are 10-20ish girls who fall through the cracks this way every year.

It’s very misleading when girls are told that they will find their home. You get to choose after they choose you. So the pnms have little to no power in this.
