Why do so many pretty girls with good grades get cut so easily? Is the dorm you live in a problem? Do you need to live in Calloway house? I don’t get it....are some of the sororities jealous of the really pretty girls and cut them?

Because there are 1000+ pretty girls with good grades going through rush. It takes something more than that to stand out. Rarely are PNM’s “cut” (as in, “absolutely, no way, she’s not going to be a XYZ, we’re cutting her”.). More often it’s about not having enough votes to go on to the next round even if all the votes you got were positive.

If you met 3 girls during Philanthropy at XYZ and they all voted for you, along with the 2 girls you met at Open House, that’s great. But if other PNM’s had 5 girls they knew from high school, plus their Fish Camp counselor and her 20 bff’s and the 5 girls they met during rush.....it’s hard to get in without the votes.

There are sooo many things chapters look at when considering potential new members and if you think it’s based solely on looks and gpa then it’s a good thing you were dropped
