is it true
by: ...Is it true that the voting process for sororities is having all 350 girls in one room and going through a slideshow and people just speak up when they recognize someone or is it through an app?

why does it matter how the process works? All you need to know is that you are being rated by members in that sorority based on how you talk/ carry yourself/ so make sure you are confident & respectful & yourself. It's not like the movies where your pic pops up on a screen and we debate if you're pretty or popular enough. a lot goes in to make sure we get the best new members and y'all get the best fit of a house.

Okay I’m gonna explain it real quick so y’all can chill
So basically every pnm is given a pre rank or starting score by each sorority the score is based on your gpa, involvement philanthropy, legacy status etc. then after a day of recruitment each sorority member you talked to ranks or votes some how based on your conversation and then a computer program usually ranks the girls from 1-1,000 or whatever and then the top x amount of girls are invited back to the next round

They're different for every sorority.
Some will give you scores like the above poster mentioned, and some will go through an initial round where there actually is a slideshow and are voted yes/no, and actives are only allowed to vote no if they've given a reason. Then everyone moves on and then comes back to the borderline cases later. Some sororities are entirely score-based. Some sororities have heavy alumna influence.
What does this mean? At some sororities, there will be some PNMs who are their tops who will stay tops (because things like grades, extracurriculars, family, recs, etc can't be changed in the middle of the week) but maybe those girls who look good on paper are kind of awkward in real life but they still get a pass. Some girls come in as huge question marks but handle themselves well during the week and at certain sororities that good impression matters more. I've even heard that at some sororities, not all actives have a say in choosing the next PC.
Just concentrate on doing your best during recruitment week. If your score is not high at certain houses, then there's nothing you can do about that now.
