is it better to be greek than not greek?

by:

Just wondering.....if I'm only offered a bid to a lower tier house, should I drop? Or is it always better to be greek at A&M?

Don't forget about legacies..... Last year after the 2nd round, there were lots of pretty first-time Greek PNM's (with great recs.) that we wanted to keep on our list but we had to cut them to accommodate the large # legacies we had going through recruitment. Believe me cutting girls isn't easy for the houses either! So anyway, if you are a first-time Greek, be extremely grateful you get a bid to any house because the quota for non-legacies is pretty low. This is sample of how we choose which girls to keep and or cut.
First choice: cute, quality freshmen legacies
second choice: cute, quality sophomore legacies
third choice: quality freshmen legacies
fourth choice: upperclassmen legacies
fifth choice: cute, quality first time Greek PNMs

In other words, be glad you got a bid and strive to make your house the best one at A&M during your 4 years here.

AGREE! Any bid (if you're willing to put your heart into it) is better than being indep.

all our houses are good and being in any one of them is more fun than being independent.

Our greek system is so cohesive. We are all one group and the whole ranking thing means nothing except on here. If you didn't have greekrank, you wouldn't be able to tell which houses were required more recs or higher grades. They're all great!

Greek is way better than GDI... no matter which house.
