by: SECdo y'all think A&M's greek life is comparable at all to other SEC greek powerhouses like Alabama, Ole Miss, or Georgia?
#1 by: No
A&M's Greek system is no where near Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, or Auburn yet, and most or all of the rest are still somewhat above A&M. It's improving, but the SEC is the most competitive conference for Greek life, and A&M has a 40-year-old Greek system.

It's true that A&M's greek system is "new", but it won't take much time to not only be comparable but to surpass. Reason? A&M is so strong academically and the state of Texas is raking in the oil money right now. Texas college kids are much better off right now than kids in the other states. Listen to the news....the country is in an economic crisis and Texas isn't. Those states love to pick on Texas - don't let 'em!

It's just hard when this school is so focused on other student organizations. That's what makes A&M different. You don't 'have' to be in the greek system to be 'social' like at other schools. People are very passionate about whatever they are involved in, whether that is greek or not. The greek life will grow, but it will just take some time.
