rush question

Are letters of rec/RIF important during rush? Does Kappa Delta, Delta Zeta, and Alpha Chi care much about those?
My sister rushed last year and did not have letters to Pi Phi or Zeta and still got asked back. Thanks

Most groups have an online form for alums to fill out. This would be the official “rec”. Most will allow you to attach your resume, Picts, etc. A letter of support is less formal. This is in addition to the rec. Each group has different rules. Some allow these to be written by actives from another school and others require it to be from an alum. Whoever you ask to do your rec/LOS will
know what to do. As far as I know, a relative can write a rec or LOS. All they do is give the group more information on you.

So much bad advice on this site: PNMs! You definitely do not need rec letters. Please do not send any in. You're making more paperwork for the members to file and they will hate you for it and cut you before rush even starts. Like, a week before. Stttopppppp sending in recs!!!!!!!

DG’s nationals require a rec to pledge. I think one other chapter on campus also has a national rec requirement.
Also, you might have recs sent in that you don’t even know about. Maybe that sweet lady from church or your senior English teacher knew you were rushing and just sent one on your behalf.
