To be COB eligible, a pnm must not have received a bid. If you decline a bid, you can’t rush again until Fall 2019. If you withdraw or suicide and don’t get a bid, you are eligible....

Panhellenic will set chapter total (kind of like average chapter size) a week or so after rush is over. Any chapter who is under total is eligible to COB, even if the chapter makes quota this week. If chapters are just a few girls below total, those bids usually go discreetly and directly to close friends of actives quickly so the new COB members can hop right into this pledge class. If the chapter is a good bit under, they will hold informal rush events usually in late Sept or October and it will be a second small new member class. Then the process repeats again in spring after December graduates and transfers in/out are counted.

You can let the Greek Life know you’re interested in COB and they will share your info with the chapters that are eligible. COB is private (not public like fall formal rush) so the chapters eligible for COB will only contact you for events if they’re interested in you. There is no “open house” type round for COB.

You can tell who has done COB because they will have new members on their Panhellenic GPA report for the spring season.

Spring 2018 hasn’t been published yet but for Spring 2017 the following chapters took new members:
AXO - 5
ADPi - 12
AOPi - 37
DZ - 9
GPB - 23 \n\n\n\n\n

It definitely helps knowing a girl in the sorority. It’s mush more casual and they’ll do a coffee meet and greet or something like it. I’d recommend if you are interested to also seek out a girl in letters on campus and spark up a conversation about how you didn’t rush and wish you would have. If they are doing COR/COB, they’ll take the bait. Obviously, don’t be weird about it (don’t bash recruitment or other sororities), just tell them you’re interested and if it’s not too late you’d want to try, and make sure you look at least a little put together when you ask.
