1200 or 1300ish, and last year was 1500. So you actually have better chances!

Nothing wrong with smaller pledge classes. It would be nice

The "chances" are always the same. Having fewer PNM's just means a smaller quota, but the way quota is determined is still the same - it's roughly the number of PNM's with pref invites divided by the number of houses on campus.

I guess girls are finally catching on to how bad Greek life is here. Too much ranking and fighting.

1) Oil money's gone, so not as many people flush with money for dues and social activities

2) Football team's been doing terribly, and there is a large correlation between success of football programs and Greek Life numbers

are the houses going to be redone??

They are just not impressive. They look like boxy suburban houses, just bigger.

I know greek life here is pretty new (compared to other schools) but we need to improve the physical houses in order to improve our greek reputation.

Makes sense. Texas economy being down means less potential members.

I do think all the chapters will do very well, make quota, great bid days for everyone.

(Perhaps a few more snap bids but that will be due to cross cutting. They will be great girls who will be picked up.)

Texas economy down??? Your so wrong. The economic growth in Texas is booming compared to the rest of the country. Where have you been? Community college? Please don't get a degree in economics.

Sorority life is expensive. Many thousands of dollars in dues, plus money for shirts/parties/other things. Lots of girls are from Houston. Lots of oil jobs in Houston. They're not poor now, but they don't have as much discretionary spending as before.

In 2013 there was a noticeable bump in recruitment numbers which has been the same for almost 20 years. Then in 2014 there was a really big bump. 2015 was also high but didn't grow anymore.

Shut up are you on adderall hahahah there are plenty of other industries in Texas (Dallas and Houston duh) and there are still plenty of people who can afford a few extra hundred a month to be Greek.

I heard it was 1300 this year. And it was 1500 last year, so hopefully more girls will be going greek. I know sadly last year a hundred got cut from all the houses all together.
