veteran thinking about joining a fraternity

by: JustMe

I did about 5 years in the military and now that I'm out, I'm considering pledging a fraternity. What are most fraternities views on that?

I think your military service would be a plus for any fraternity's reputation. For you personally, you might want to consider that you would be quite a bit older than your fraternity brothers. Just something to think about.

Yeah I think this is going to be the biggest obstacle. With 5 years of service, you'll likely be older than the entire chapter. Plus I assume that you're at least 23 or 24 and you'll be in a pledge class that's like half 18 year olds.

Thank you for your service. I think you should rush and see what you think of the guys before deciding. If anything, the fraternity experience will only add to your resume when you graduate.
