reference letters
by: PNMI decided at the very end of July to rush with a friend and I tried so hard to find a reference letter for each sorority. But some didn't follow through or I could find one for certain sororities. Am I going to cut from ones I don't have reference letters from?! Are they picky about reference letters?! I'm so nervous and I'm also a sophomore so my chances are already slim.

Some houses place more emphasis on recs than others. I know at least one or two houses here have national policies that you must have a rec on file to pledge.
As a sophomore, I'd be more concerned about GPA than recs,
honestly. You will have very limited choices below 3.0 and expect to be cut from some houses if you're below 3.2-3.3.
The most successful sophomore PNM's have great grades, friends in multiple houses, and were very involved on campus as freshmen. They also are open to joining all houses, not just a handful of ones they predetermined to be "acceptable."

So with a 3.30 gpa am I going to be cut by a lot of houses?
Do you know high sororities automatically cut without recs?
