If you're going through rush this year, it's too late to make connections. "Connections" = friendships from high school, camp, church, family friends, etc.

Plenty of girls get bids who don't know any actives before rush starts. They have your recs and resume so the houses already know about you before rush starts. Then it's a matter of what house your personality fits in best, and how well you click with the actives you meet during rush.

Also, don't listen to tent talk/ gossip. All of the houses here are great. Gamma Phi and KD are newer houses that don't have as much history and tradition as the others. That doesn't make them bottom houses. They are both full of cute, fun girls and the sorority experience is pretty much the same in every house. If you're close-minded to considering all houses, you may be closing the door to becoming Greek at A&M.

My roommate didn't know a single person in XO and got a bid there because she totally was the kind of girl they were looking for. It matters way less here at A&M who you know before you rush. Of course things like connections help, and only Kappa and maybe Tri Delt do you REALLY need personal connections. But if you're a great PNM, then you will get noticed here and houses will fight over you. Just concentrate on being the best you can be.

Also, in regards to referring to KD and Gamma Phi as "bottom 4," I'll pretend that I didn't see that. Because here, no one thinks "oh hey, they're lower tier." And if you keep that snobby mindset, a lot of people here won't like you. Just some words of advice! Greeks at A&M are so vilified by a lot and because of our numbers, stick together so much. So any kind of bad gossip will definitely get back to you. Aggies first, Greeks second!
