why ddd and kkg?
by: I don't get it
I'm not trying to hate, I know a ton of Tri Delts and Kappas and a lot are good friends, I'm just trying to understand why they're logically considered top houses. It doesn't make much sense to me.
Neither are the smartest or most involved. Neither are even top 3 when it comes to philanthropy events, or when it comes to looks or fraternity relations. They don't have nice houses. So where does their status come from?

Tbh im honestly confused about this thread. So OP is confused why kkg and tridelt are considered top when they aren't top in all categories......? Please name one sorority at A&M who is the prettiest, considered the best by ALL frats, is #1 in grades, and has the best philanthropy (which idk even know how you would judge that....). So obvi you can't because it's impossible so stop arguing. it's stupid. Just let people think the way they want to. Are you trying to convince kappas and Tridelts they arent top or are you trying to tell pnms that they aren't top? Either way it won't change anything

Think about the most popular girl at your high school. Is she the prettiest? Smartest? Kindest? No, she's not. But she's close to the top in all of these categories. Tri Delta may be prettier and have better grades than Kappa, and Kappa may be more social (and more importantly - they know the top tier guys) and wealthy than Tri Delt.
XO/Pi Phi/Theta have higher grades, but they're definitely socially inferior.
Zeta/DG/AXO may be prettier and hotter, but they're not "classy" (code for not-as-wealthy). Zeta gets dumped on for their grades, even though I know a ton of engineering majors and they're moving up in grades.
Think of Tri Delta as your homecoming queen: pretty, nice, Christian, academic, all the moms know her and love her. Dates the football player (if he's the Christian Colt McCoy type). Pre-Tim Riggins Lyla Garrity without the pom-poms.
Kappa is the cool, rich, IDGAF girl who guys think is chill, and she can also be friends with the goody popular girls as well. She'll be known as the "crazy" friend and girls will gossip about her and her sarcastic humor might rub people the wrong way. No high school boys for her. She'll go for older guys who are "interesting" so anyone from a tech entrepreneur who dropped out of Stanford to a hit band's videographer. Think a less-hot Serena van der Woodsen.
Obviously these are a little characture-ish, but hopefully you get the point.

Hahaahahahahaha actually kinda accurate, although exaggerated. but I agree, if you're on her trying to lay out your greekrank grievances so that another girl in your sorority can come affirm you and validate that life's not fair then this thread is for you. I'm obviously not in either but If you're trying to convince kappa or Tridelt that they aren't top or trying to get that point across to PNMs, it's not even worth your time. Sorry

As to why DG keeps popping up as on same level as Zeta? I would say Tri Delta and Kappa pick, then Zeta and Chi O pick and then DG and Pi Phi pick then AXO and Theta pick. Girls who don't get Zeta or above pick DG then AXO and girls who don't get Chi O and above pick Pi Phi and then Theta. Two very distinct sides. I personally think Kappa and Tri Delta are the top bones ecause they manage to combine those two distinct sides in a good mix..... Not too wild/looks based or too boring/ granola looking.
No, I am not a KKG or Tri Delta.

I know lots of gorgeous Kappas but that is not why they were selected, same with TriDelt. It's the complete package. They have great legacies. Grades are not that different between any of the houses, except a few. Socially they mix with the top Frats. They pull the girls from the best private and public schools. TriDelt, and Kappa to a lesser degree, are both involved on campus. Kappa had a lot of Fish Camp counselors this year tho. Kappa has top Philanthropy events and volunteers at their philanthropy more than any of us. I've heard their Pickers sing and they are super cute. But - I don't think these 2 chapters are "better" than XO, ZTA, or DG. I think XO, DDD, KKG all recruit same type of girl.

Both can fill their pledge classes with A&M legacies. It's a very small pool they swim in and while the other houses reach out and fill their classes with diverse members, some houses are just more of the same year after year.
If you think you get the best based upon resume you'd be missing on many phenomenal girls those houses don't consider. That's why other houses are on the rise while some are stagnant.
You don't grow if you bring high school to college! Branch out and surround yourself with new friends. Give everyone a chance and visit your high school friends for dinner.

But it's easy to fall and by being houses of 300+ of the same girl while other houses place as much emphasis on the girl herself as on her resume and family wealth. That approach is simply too shallow for most when we go to A&M so we can be self sufficient and not need mommy and daddy's money, oops I mean "class".
It's tiring when people use the words classy on here rather then monied. Every house has classy girls and every house has girls who make a mistake or two. I am sorry but in this century your parents accomplishments don't make you better then others. We start at A&M as freshman and equals and some are super glad to join sororities that don't try to propiagate elitism.
No quicker way to fall then do the same thing year after year while watching others build different yet great brands around you. All some have to fall back on is money and zip codes which they like to call "class".

I'm in one of the sororities that this post is about. I'm in PC 15 and did not know a single girl in my pledge class or any girls in the house already. I have never heard a single girl in my sorority talk about money or their parents jobs or anything about how our sorority is the best because we're the "classiest" or most "monied." The girls I've met in my house are all so unique and different and kind and loving. My sisters are genuinely the kindest people I've ever met. I love my sorority and to me, it's the best. To other people, their sorority is the best. The best sororities at A&M depend on who YOU are as a person. Even Tridelt and Kappa are vastly different. The girls in my sororities understand that. So please for the love of God focuse on your own rush and your own sorority so that our entire Greek system can be better because I promise belittling my sorority does not make yours better. Each sorority has an opportunity to be the best to someone. Focus on that and your sorority will be top teir to the members, because at the end of the day that's all that matters.

I think you're missing the point. It's not that they're not considered #1 in all categories. It's that they're not considered #1 in ANY category at all
