opinions on fiji
by: FIJI?So I'm planning on rushing in the fall, and I've kinda always thought of FIJI as my first choice (looking past the typical rumors I hear about them). I wanted to get some opinions on FIJI, preferably from someone who has rushed/gotten a bid with them, or anyone who has first hand experience with them. Thanks!

They suck. And I don't mean that in a defamatory way. Fiji is good for a couple things: networking and connecting with people from HP/Memorial/Alama Heights etc. But they suck when it comes to anything you actually expect from a fraternity experience: parties, Greek housing, girls, brotherhood, etc.

Got a bid from them last semester, but went somewhere else. They're known for their money and their networking/connection, my best tip for you is to go check them out for yourself and meet every active and see if you fit in yourself. You won't know, you might end up choosing a different fraternity after you meet them.

Well I've also heard that I might not get a bid for that reason. My family is split between River Oaks and Alamo Hights but I specifically graduated from a small town high school so neither of those areas represent me much beyond that. I know that's not the point, but everyone claims that makes a difference in whether or not you get noticed... I just wanted to verify that?
