ranks for guys and girls

I know it's not the usual tier system but this is how I see it and I think it makes the most sense.
Sororities:
Tri-Delt and Chi O
Kappa, Zeta, and DG
-Slight gap-
Pi Phi and Theta
-Slight gap-
Alpha Chi
-Big gap-
KD and DZ
Gamma Phi
-Big gap-
ADPI
Honestly, Kappa, Zeta, and DG are all prettier, more popular/social, and better liked by guys than Tri Delt or Chi O. I personally think their nicer and more down to earth too. But by almost every measurable mean (academics, retention, philanthropy, etc.), Tri Delt and Chi O are ahead.
I think the gap between the top 5 and Pi Phi/Theta is a lot smaller than people try and make it seem, and that both those sororities have the ability to one day be top tier. AXO also gets severely undersold for how good of a sorority as they are.
The bottom four is the bottom four, but they get put down more than they deserve, and DZ isn't nearly as bad as people make it seem, it's just a few girls.
Fraternities:
KA Fiji SAE and Sig Ep
-Slight gap-
Delt and Sigma Chi
-Big gap-
Pike and Kappa Sig
-Slight gap-
Beta and Sigma Nu
-Big gap-
All the other frats
KA Fiji SAE and Sig Ep are all basically even unless you want to nit pick. They all excel in their own ways and none of them excel at everything.
The gap between the top 4 and Delt/Sigma Chi is smaller than people like to make it seem. Delt and Sigma Chi aren't quite on the same level as the top 4, but if any other frat would rise to top tier in the future, it'd be one of these two.

There's obviously a big difference between the top 6 fraternities and the rest, but Pike is still good, and Kappa Sig gets undersold but is honestly just as good as Pike.
Sigma Nu isn't the best but it doesn't get enough credit. Beta is way overhyped and really doesn't do anything to deserve being listed any higher.
The other frats are basically non-existent

I disagree with sororities.
Yes - Chi O has good retention during rush, but not any better than Zeta or Kappa. Plus, after rush, every girl who goes Chi-o drops off the face of the planet. Their philanthropy raises a lot of money, but other than that, it has been going downhill. Songfest was not organized well at all this year, and many many people were upset. Chi-O is only top in grades because their new members are not included in their grade report. their new members aren't initiated until the spring, and by that time, freshman grades have improved. They would not be top 3 in grades if freshman scores were counted.
DDD is top yes, but not any more than KKG or ZTA again. Gameday and DeltaDiner (not even sure??) are not more attended than other events... Retention rate is the same as other top sororities.

XO is definitely a good sorority but I wouldn't call it top 3. That's Kappa Tri Delt and Zeta. XO might be top 4...maybe. Them and DG are runner-up to top tier and basically even, it just depends on preference

I think she is basically right. The top few sororities are really just personal preference which is why no one can ever agree on Kappa or Chi on top.
I personally do not think DG is even with other four. I think very few girls pref them over those other four. I guess it might be slightly above Pi Ph....maybe.....i but I do think some girls pref pi phi over DG. I do agree about ones who are better than this site seems to make them though.

I actually agree for the most part. Just a few things
I don't think DDD or XO are above KKG ZTA or DG. We're classified as social sororities. If Panhellenic was a group of service organizations or academic societies, then yeah, DDD or XO would be on top. But that's not what we are, and things like popularity, looks, social presence, and fraternity relations matter at least as much if not more. KKG ZTA and DG are all equal with DDD and XO, maybe even slightly better.
The rest of the sorority stuff is spot on.
As for fraternities, I would go ahead and move Pike, Kappa Sig, Beta, and Sigma Nu all into one big lump. I don't think any of them are ahead of each other. Move Sigma Chi down with them, either on the same level or just a little bit above. Nothing wrong with them, they're just nowhere near as close to the top 4 as Delt is

DDDs purpose: The purpose of Delta Delta Delta shall be to establish a perpetual bond of friendship among its members, to develop a stronger and more womanly character, to broaden the moral and intellectual life, and to assist its members in every possible way.
DGs purpose: Its primary purpose is to foster high ideals of friendship, promote educational and cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility, and develop the finest qualities of character.
ZTAs purpose: enrich and ennoble our lives; to be true to ourselves, and to those within and without our circle; to think in terms of all mankind and our service in the world; to be steadfast, strong, and clean of heart and mind
KKGs purpose: is an organization of women, which seeks for every member throughout her life bonds of friendship, mutual support, opportunities for self-growth, respect for intellectual development, and an understanding of and an allegiance to positive ethical principles.
XO and DDD and DG have accomplished exactly what they have set out to do.

Wait I'm confused how have only some of those sororities lived up to thei r expectations...???? Do you have like a meter that measures how well rach sorority lives up to "making lifelong friendships" or "upholding ethical principles" let me know I would like to see!!!!!!

everyone says tri delt is top but i think its just an old reputation. pretty girls yes but they arent that social like i never see tri delts out

Smart and involves, but again, never on top for either. Decent philanthropy but nowhere near the best. Not very social. Kind of stuck up. Only mixes with like 2 or 3 fraternities, which are all considered going downhill

Delt has passed up Beta just by the fact that beta never does anything. It is given that more girls show up to SAE parties but everyone I know would tell you that overall Delt is a better fraternity than SAE. Im not saying they are top 4 yet but the next person to be in the 4 will be them.

Beta sucks now, but Delt is basically on the same level as Pike and Sigma Chi, and is honestly being passed up. They're not going to be the next top tier anytime soon

UPDATE: chi o wasn't even top grades last semester, pi phi was, and that's like the main thing chi o even has going for them
