rec letters
by: PNMSo I'm rushing in the fall and I'm just wondering if the sororities here place a lot of importance on letters of recommendation and if so, which houses value them more

1000+ girls go through rush every year. Do you know the easiest way to start cutting down to quota is? Cutting girls for grades and for not having recs. Having a rec to every house will increase your chances of getting a bid somewhere.
I can't tell you which houses because that is private membership selection info, but there are some houses on campus whose national policy is that a pnm must have a rec to get a bid. My house is one of those houses, and I think there is at least one more that I've heard of.
Get your recs ASAP. It's late already.

Thank you! I already rec letters for four chapters lined up but I wasn't sure if I needed to try and get more. My grades are really good so rec letters was the only thing I was worried about

Get recs for all chapters ASAP. Four is not enough and you are likely looking at big cuts during rush without more recs.
Ideally, all of your recs would have been sent to the houses before school got out in May. You need to work very quickly to line up recs and have them sent to the houses no later than July 15. Be very polite when requesting recs as the alumna will have less time to complete than they would have if you had gotten organized back in the spring.

Well I didn't know if I was going to rush back in May because I'm a transfer and didn't know if I got accepted or not til just recently but I'm jumping on it, so thank you for the advice!
