by: howdytiers are irrelevant. i know so many girls in houses across the board and have come to find that all that should matter is whether or not you like your sorority. my friends in "bottom tier" houses love where they're at. there are happy girls and sad girls in every house, what really matters is how they fit in the house. depending on personality, a girls top fit could be drastically different than someone elses

Lower houses often have closer knit groups/better sisterhood. A lot of top houses are super petty and only care about rank while girls in other sororities care about making genuine connections and getting involved with their philanthropy. I honestly wish I were in one of those houses sometimes because they seem so much more real. I'm in a "top" house and don't get me wrong I love my sorority, but sometimes the politics and people rub me wrong. I just wish ranking weren't a thing because then we could all focus on the group we're already in instead of worrying about who is the best. They're all really good sororities! Like all of them..not even the "top 5" or whatever. Regardless of what house you're in you wear your letters with pride!!!

bumping this for PNMs to see. there are so many lies on this site 80% of the things you'll see are insane. INSANE. if you read what people write about houses with the highest retention rates it is CLEAR that there are butt hurt girls on here trying to tear other chapters down after getting cut!! but ALL the houses rock. ALL of them. rankings are personal. sure there is some general consensus on some things but as a whole this is bogus. what I would write as the rank for the houses could be TOTALLY different than someone else. it depends on what you want to get out of being part of greek life. and thats the whole point. what do YOU want?? I personally LOVE my sorority and am so excited to get new girls for our chapter in the fall. girls who WANT to be there and don't join for a name. girls who will enjoy being in our house and be glad that they chose us and most of all chose greek!!!!

A lot of people say that tiers are influenced by guys and I'm in what people on here consider a "lower middle" sorority and my boyfriend is in a "top" fraternity. I asked him one time if guys cared about tiers and his response was "if the girl is hot and not crazy no one cares." And all of his pledge brothers have never acted indifferent towards me and my friends. Tiers literally don't matter and only exist because people rushing are still in that high school mentality. Go where you feel like you belong.

Tiers absolutely do not matter. If you really focus on finding a house where you feel like you can be yourself, you will be happy. It's always interesting to hear girls say they figured such and such chapter would suck because they are ranked low on GR. That's because it's not real life on GR. It's easy to talk about everyone when you have a screen to hide behind. You'll enjoy all the houses. Just have fun!!

Only the people in charge or recruitment and presidents would have this information. They may have told chapters but everyone lies during recruitment to boost morale lolz

of the "lower tier" sororities have great retention because of their close sisterhood.

so? 1. none of the GDIs at A&M give a flying f about sororities much less what they are ranked. 2. all the greek chapters at A&M have the same types of events/socials/activities/national orgs/etc. 3. once you graduate you realize how true the "ranks are irrelevant" statement is.

Who ever said that the best retention rates doesn't mean they got the best pledge classes is literally dumb because that's exactly what it means. If you get all the girls you want and more girls wanted you than anyone else than you got the best pledge class. So for example Tridelt and kappa got the best pledge classes. While there might be a few random girls thrown in, overall Tridelt took all the pnms that everyone else wanted. That was just straight dumb lol.
