Tri Delt/Kappa: both think they are the top two houses because they compete for the same type of girl during Rush for the most part (prestigious area, high school, connections, etc). Usually discount other sororities, except maybe chi o, who are not part of the fiji/KA/tridelt/kappa bubble. Most kappa/tridelt friend groups overlap. Not your stereotypical sorority girls, and usually make fun of girls who use the term "sister" is a serious way, try to hard, blow glitter in slow motion videos, or make cheesy recruitment videos.
Zeta/DG: compete with each other, and both think they are alone are the top house. Can be seen frequently making jabs at eachother on GR about songfest, stompfest, who won, it's rigged, blah blah blah zzzzz... Made up of mostly dancers/cheerleaders/blondes. Your typical sorority girl. Although this group is known to party, they are still compeltely opposite of kappas, who are known to be partiers too. Think rush videos with fake campfires, fake pillow fights, riding down texas in a pink jeep, etc....
ChiO- usually girls from good areas and highschools but drop off the radar when they join chi o. steals girls from kappa and tridelt during Rush. Therefore KKG/DDD sees them as a house above zeta. Because ZTA and Dg usually aren't interested in area/highschool and are more into looks/personality, they don't compete with chi O during rush. So ZTA/Dg girls wouldn't rank chi o as high as KKG/DDD girls would. It depends who you ask.

kappa tri delt chi o zeta and dg are 100% the top sororities. there is no consensus on which is the best of the best than which, which probably goes to show that's it's super subjective. however..I would say that nobody would ever put dg or zeta as top other than dg or zeta. but also people don't really care

Most people would put Zeta and DG in the top tier. The only people who wouldn't are the ones who think tier is dependent purely on family history and zip code (a.k.a the DDD/KKG/XO & KA/Fiji/Beta bubble) Clearly that's not true for the fraternities here, most people put SAE SigEp and maybe Delt in the top tier category for frats, and Zeta/DG are the equivalent for sororities. They're not all rich and from the same wealthy high schools, but they're damn good organizations with a lot of pretty, social, and popular girls

Saying all the girls in top tier sororities base it off of zip code and wealth is naive. Girls get cut from the top sororities and end up pledging zeta chio and DG because ddd and kkg wouldn't take them due to their reputations and attitudes. I know PLENTY of girls who would've ended up in one of the top two houses if it was based off of wealth. But when you actually take a look at the girls who got cut and the way they act at frat parties/ northgate/ their own philanthropy events you understand why they were not rushed by ddd or kkg. Stop making excuses for the girls who got cute for no reason other than themselves.

Okay that long ass rant is stupid and I'm embarrassed for you. But yes, Tridelt and kappa are top for a reason and while kappa I'll admit does have a party reputation they're top because they get all the best pledges. They don't have to worry about someone cutting them first day. Kappa and ddd aren't threatened by zeta and dg or chio. That's what's makes the difference. They both take very different girls. But they take the girls they want. If kappa and ddd are on your final pref day, you're damn sure picking one of them. And the amount of girls that got those two houses and chose another willing is MINISCULE. Yes the other three houses are good. Just not as good when you actually look at the numbers. Sorry. We all just need to do better in rush and maybe it won't be the same next year.

They're top because they're the most exclusive. That's the truth. They both cut more girls first day during rush than any other sororities. They're top because no matter how many times zeta and DG claim to be top, 95% of their girls got cut from Tridelt and kappa. Especially tridelt. Ya they're involved and cute and fun but very similar to the other good sororities. The number one difference is just the exclusivity. At least that's what I think it is.

If I can make the cut for the top five? Should I drop out? There was a girl from my prep school who was from a very wealthy family, popular, smart and pretty. She was a legacy to several of these top 5 and got cut from most of the houses. Everyone was in shock. It scares a lot of us.

Do you really want to be greek or not? You really don't choose who invites you back day after day. You will have a wonderful greek experience in every house, so if you want to be greek you have to go in with an open mind.
Tiers really don't matter. Each house has parties/sisterhood events/houses/study groups/mixers/philanthropy/national connections/etc.
In addition - the only way our greek system will thrive at A&M is if we all stop this nonsense. Be honest, the greek system here is new and somewhat outcasted from the main campus at times. Infighting will not help us.

All chapters are great. Pi Phi, Theta, and AXO are both filled with great girls. You might be surprised. I personally would choose Pi Phi for sure and maybe even Theta over Zeta or DG.
